UK NEW YORK NAMES NEW VP

June 4, 2012 - UK Sailmakers is pleased to announce that Dave Coughlin has joined the team as Vice President of the New York loft. Dave returns to the marine industry from a career in corporate operations and sales for the IT and Telecom industries.

Previous marine industry positions were Customer Service Manager and Yacht Broker at McMichael’s Yacht Yard. Additionally, Dave served as the Director of Waterfront Activities and Head Varsity & Offshore Sailing Coach at the SUNY Maritime College from 1990 through 2000. He has earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Marine Transportation from SUNY Maritime and an Executive Masters Degree from Columbia University in Computer Technology & Applications.

“I have known Dave for years and he is a good friend,” said Butch Ulmer, President of UK Sailmakers New York. “He is a terrific sailor and a great organizer. He will continue to improve the level of service of the loft.”

Coughlin’s sailing experience includes numerous Newport to Bermuda Races, several Block Island, Solomon Island and Key West Race weeks extending back to the 1980’s, as skipper, tactician, crew or coach. He has frostbit Penguins, Sunfish, Inter Clubs and Lasers over the past four decades.
