Direct-Drive Furler – Spinnaker Accessories

Direct-Drive furlers are similar to a standard genoa furler, except instead of using a single line that gets pulled from a drum to furl a sail, a continuous loop of line is used to turn a flat drum, turns an anti-torsion cable that rolls the sail. These lightweight furlers are perfect for staysails, Code Zeros on boats under 35 feet, and cruising Code Zeros, which have a smaller mid girth than racing Code Zeros. Direct-Drive Furlers are less expensive than Top-Down furlers.
