Charting the Course for 2026

The 2025 UK Sailmakers Managers Meeting has wrapped up in Badalona, Spain, led by UK Sailmakers International President John Bennett. Loft managers, owners, and representatives from across Europe, Australia, Asia, Africa, and North America gathered on the Catalonian coast to exchange knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and set priorities for the year ahead.

Over three days, attendees participated in presentations from industry specialists and received updates from UK Sailmakers’ design, production, and marketing committees. Discussions focused on innovation in sail materials, refinements in design software, and strategies to support the evolving needs of both racing and cruising sailors across global markets. Managers and associates also took part in group activities both in Badalona and nearby Barcelona, strengthening connections across the international network.

As independent business owners and passionate sailors, each loft manager brings valuable regional insights. Their shared expertise—combined with the global resources of the UK Sailmakers group—continues to strengthen the brand worldwide.

This year, Morten Ullmann of UK Sailmakers Denmark received the Loft of the Year award, recognized for his loft’s consistency, growth, and notable achievements in one-design dinghy sails and social media performance.

Following the meeting, several managers continued on to Amsterdam to attend METS, connecting with suppliers, exploring new technologies, and engaging with the broader marine industry.

Looking ahead, the 2026 Managers Meeting is planned for Bruges, Belgium, where attendees will gather in one of Europe’s most historic and picturesque maritime cities. Special thanks to Michel Lefebvre and Glenn De Brower for their support in planning this year’s meeting and ensuring its success.
