Diabolic Does It Again: 3rd Overall in the Bahía de Pollença
Glenn De Brouwer and Michel Lefebvre of UK Sailmakers Belgium have done it again. The Diabolic Sailing Team recently crossed the finish line of the Bahía de Pollença race with a stellar result: 1st double-handed and 3rd overall in what turned out to be one of the most patience-testing editions of the 110-mile Barcelona-to-Mallorca classic in recent memory.
With almost no wind to speak of, Diabolic ground through 33 hours of racing to cover the distance. That’s the kind of race that separates the well-prepared from the rest, and Diabolic was ready. Aboard Glenn’s Sun Fast 35, the X-Drive light air genoa was the weapon of choice, and it delivered. X-Drive Carbon’s ultra-low-stretch loadpath construction keeps the sail flying and working even when the breeze barely registers on the instruments, exactly what you need when every puff counts.
It wasn’t just the headsail doing the work. The complete light air package on Diabolic, X-Drive light genoa, Code Zero, Matrix spinnakers, and a Titanium mainsail, proved to be a winning combination for the Mediterranean’s notoriously fickle summer conditions. When the whole inventory works together like this, the results speak for themselves.

This result builds on a strong legacy for the team. Diabolic claimed the 2024 Offshore Regatta Circuit championship, now called as the Circuito Regatas Ausmar, the same circuit that includes the Bahía de Pollença, before finishing on the podium again in 2025. Racing predominantly double-handed, Glenn and Michel have become a fixture at the top of Mediterranean offshore results, and UK Sailmakers Belgium has been part of that journey every step of the way.
Congratulations to the Diabolic Sailing Team on another outstanding result. We look forward to seeing what’s next.
