Passagemaker - Reef Points

Cruising sloop with a Swedish courtesy flag sailing past a rocky coastline

We provide a set of patches on the foot and the leach so that when the sail is reefed, the corner loads at the new head and tack are more evenly distributed. These patches help eliminate distortion and wear that can occur after repeated reefing. An option with X-Drive® and Titanium sails is to add fibers aft of the luff and parallel to the luff that run between the reef patches. This way the optional fibers carry the new luff loads of the reefed sail.
