SILVER AND GOLD FOR UK SAILMAKERS AT J/105 INVITATIONAL

The 2025 J/105 Invitational Boqueron Cup, hosted at Lakewood Yacht Club in Seabrook, Texas, on March 22-23, saw fierce competition among J/105 owners from Houston and beyond. This unique event pairs local Fleet 17 owners with guest drivers from outside the Houston area, ensuring a high level of competition across six tightly contested races.

In a showcase of speed and precision, UK Sailmakers-powered boats secured the top two spots, proving once again the performance advantage of UK’s One Design sails.

INFINITY Takes the Title

With a brand-new spinnaker designed by Pat Considine of UK Sailmakers Chicago, along with a UK Sailmakers Texas main and jib, INFINITY, owned by Tom Collier and raced by guest skipper Terry McLaughlin, dominated the event. McLaughlin, a seasoned sailor, led INFINITY to three race wins, demonstrating the reliability and speed of the UK Sailmakers inventory. Crew members Jay Cross, Sandy Andrews, Paul Parsons, and Corrie Lambert contributed to the team’s strong showing. Their only setback came in Race 5, when they were OCS, but they managed to recover well. With three bullets and consistent finishes, INFINITY secured the overall win with an impressive 7-point lead.

SPITFIRE Secures Second Place

Finishing in second place was SPITFIRE, sailing with a UK Sailmakers main and jib. The boat's consistent performance across all six races further reinforced the reliability and competitiveness of UK’s One Design sails.
