Important Measurement Notes

  • DO NOT measure old sails – they stretch over time. Include unique details about old sails (hardware, patches, etc.)
  • Use steel or fiberglass reinforced measuring tape
  • Attach separate pull-down line on halyard before hoisting
  • Do not rely on measuring tape to pull halyard down
  • TENSION THE BACKSTAY TO AVERAGE UPWIND SETTING BEFORE TAKING MEASUREMENTS
